Caruth Holds off Heim and Riggs for Truck Win at Nashville

Rajah Caruth and crew celebrate in Victory Lane at Nashville Superspeedway
(NASHVILLE, TN – MAY 30, 2025 – RIS) Rajah Caruth scored his second career series win by ‘doing my best’ in holding off challenges from Corey Heim over the final laps of the Rackley Roofing 200 Craftsman Truck Series race.
Last week’s winner from Charlotte, Corey Heim led the field to the green flag, until oil out of Franky Muniz’ truck caused a caution at the end of the first lap of the race. Heim led to the green but Corey Day slipped around him while Rajah Caruth tried an inside pass before Heim retook the lead with Layne Riggs running second. Kyle Busch earned a drive-through penalty for a restart violation, dropping to the back of the field.
Layne Riggs took the lead and pulled out by almost a half second ahead of Heim, with Caruth, Honeycutt and Day the rest of the top five just after the restart. Riggs went on to take his third career stage win, followed by by Heim, Caruth, Daniel Hemric and Kaden Honeycutt.
Heim took the lead after the caution for the stage end. Jack Wood spun in the fourth turn and Akinori Ogata spun in the melee and was really the only truck to receive damage when he backed into the wall.
Heim held the lead after the end of the caution, opening a lead of a couple of seconds ahead of Riggs as the second stage wound to its close. The gap at the checkered flag was under two seconds only because Heim eased off on the final lap.
Layne Riggs’ crew had trouble with the right -front wheel on the pit stop, dropping the Bahama, NC second-generation racer back to eighth in the pack. Rajah Caruth led Heim to the choose for the restart, followed by Grant Enfinger, Corey Day and Kaden Honeycutt.
Caruth’s restart earned him the lead ahead of Heim and Day with Hemric moving up to fourth. By the ten-lap mark, Heim had closed the gap to Caruth by about a half second, from nearly a second margin earlier in the run. At six to go, he challenged on the outside, then Riggs moved in to challenge Heim for second before the pair battled side-by-side and allowed Caruth to open the gap.
“I didn’t expect that at all,” Caruth said. “My pit crew won that race,” he added.
