Heritage Invitational Opens Ten Tenths Motor Club

Early arrivals were driven around the track in this and a few other exotics on Friday
(CONCORD, NC – 06 APR, 2025 – RIS) This weekend saw the grand opening of a new motor sports ‘country club’ in Concord, NC. Across the street from Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Turns One and Two, Ten Tenths is the brain child of Marcus Smith and Rick Hendrick. Following two years of the Smith Heritage Invitational meeting at AutoFair, the grand opening of the club featured a collection of historically significant classics, vintage race cars and examples of current supercars, plus a race for Historic Trans-Am cars and a Pro-Am race that pitted ten pro racers against amateurs who bid for the opportunity with the proceeds going to Speedway Children’s Charities.
Scott Joy, son of announcer and vintage racer Mike Joy, won the first race at the new track in Friday’s opening Trans-Am contest. Saturday's celebration included a series of historic and classic cars parked around the track. This writer can't stoop to pick just one favorite out of the collection.
Thanks to Marcus Smith and the entire staff of the club and Charlotte Motor Speedway for allowing RIS to have access to the outstanding event.
