Corey Heim’s Last Run Earns Homestead Truck Pole

(HOMESTEAD, FL – MAR 21, 2025 – RIS) Taking advantage of the late session qualifying spot that cooled the first and second turns, Corey Heim put his 

Truck practice started with a slight smoke haze in the area from a brush fire adjacent to the track. Fire-fighting helicopters with water bags managed to get the blaze controlled without affecting the track schedule.

Jack Wood took the No, 91 McAnally Chevy to the top of the chart early in the first session, with Brandon Jones and Connor Mosack next in the early laps. 

Qualifying opened with French racer Michel Disdier setting his time at 36.915 sec/146.282 mph while Stefan Parsons’ lap of 33.233 sec/162.489 mph 0.341 second ahead of Jack Wood’s lap. Brandon Jones, running just out of the first ten, beat Parsons’ time by 0.606 second, then Connor Mosack joined Jones in the top rank. 

Ross Chastain took the first position, then Gio Riggiero bumped the No. 44 Chevy to second, with Daniel Hemric next on the track in fifth place. Visiting Cup driver Kyle Larson used his typical high line in the turns to move to the top of the chart, at 32.334 seconds and 167.007 mph, the first truck over 167 mph. 

Tanner Gray went out and slapped his cards on the table with a lap of 32.281 /167.281 to bump Kyle Larson off the top of the heap by 0.053 second before Corey Heim beat out his teammate for the pole by 0.170 second with his lap at 32.111/168.167, the only truck to break the 168 mph mark.

“That’s the most grip I’ve ever felt here at Homestead,” commented the pole winner, adding that the shade in the first two turns late in the session may have made the difference for his pole position.
