Atlanta Qualifying: Jesse Love Sets Hat-Trick of Xfinity Poles, Mosack Speeds to Career-First Truck Pole

(HAMPTON, GA – FEB 21, 2025 – RIS) Jesse Love scored his third-straight NASCAR Xfinity Series pole position for Atlanta Motor Speedway, starting first in both races last year and now on the front row in Saturday’s race. Coming off of winning last week’s season-opener at Daytona Love hopes to extend his winning streak for 2025. In Craftsman Truck Series qualifying, Connor Mosack beat Grant Enfinger for the Fr8 208 by the margin of 0.076 second. 

Taylor Gray, tenth-fast in round one, led the field onto the track in the second round of Xfinity qualifying, setting his lap at 31.955/173.494 with rookie Cononor Ziisch next out, at 32.028 in the new No. 88 JRMotorsports entry. Sam Mayer, in the sole Ford in round two, moved to the top at 31.932 seconds and 173.619 mph. drove the No. 20 Toyota to a lap of 31.960/173.467, just five thousandths off his teammate Taylor Gray’s time. Josh Williams, in a slight surprise, set the fastest time in the first five qualifiers, at 31.920/173.684 but his position at the top of the scoring pylon only lasted a few minutes. Justin Allgaier lapped the track six thousandths slower than Williams, with Carson Kvapil next out, setting his lap in the Clarience Chevrolet at 31.963/173.451. Christian Eckes, net out, didn’t go as high on the track in his out lap, and ran slower than his first session time, at 32.011/173.190. Austin Hill knocked Williams off the pole with his lap of 31.793/174.378, leading to last week’s official winner Jesse Love, who has started on the pole for both of last season’s Xfinity races here. Love repeated his pole for a hat-trick of three in a row, setting his time at 31.730/174.724. 

In Truck Series qualifying, Ben Rhodes was first out in the second round of qualifying, setting a 32.194 lap at 172.206 mph, exactly matching his lap in the first session of qualifying for the Fr8 Racing 208 Craftsman Truck Series race. Tyler Ankrum picked up a slight edge over his first session lap, beating Rhodes’ time by 0.039 second. Then Kyle Busch, in one of his appearances in the truck series, turned his lap at 32.189/172.233 to slot in between Ankrum and Rhodes. Grant Enfinger jumped to the top of the table, at 32.045/173.007, his lap over a tenth quicker than Ankrum’s. Stewart Friesen dropped into third, 0.024 behind Ankrum before Rajah Caruth moved into second place with his lap of 32.122/172.592.

Jake Garcia pushed the No. 13 Ford to third, at 32.145/172.469. Connor Mosack leaped to the top of the field at 31.969/173.418 in his lap with Daniel Hemric the fastest in the first round and final qualifier, setting his third at 32.061/172.920.
