CONCORD, N.C. (June 6, 2024) – The action-packed 31st anniversary season of Cook Out Summer Shootoutroars to life next week as racing’s future stars battle in Legend Cars and Bandoleros on the frontstretch of historic Charlotte Motor Speedway in back-to-back nights, June 10 and 11.
Cook Out Summer Shootout features weekly racing through June and July, with drivers as young as seven competing head-to-head against the best grassroots racing fields in the country. Now household names in NASCAR, former Summer Shootout contenders like Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano cut their teeth in the Legend Car and Bandolero ranks. This summer, future generations of NASCAR stars will look to make a name for themselves.
More than 150 of the world’s greatest grassroots racers will take on the famed quarter-mile oval for the first competition of the eight-week series this Monday and Tuesday. Each night will feature qualifying and racing across eight different divisions as drivers look to cement their legacy as Shootout champions.
But that’s just part of the fun fans can expect at America’s Home for Racing this summer. With weekly themed nights, fan-friendly games and engaging activities, Cook Out Summer Shootout provides entertainment for the whole family on and off the track. Nightly themes and special promotions make the event a can’t-miss summer tradition at America’s Home for Racing.
Next week’s opening rounds feature back-to-back nights of racing, with the Cook Out Kickoff on Monday and Tuesday’s Media Mayhem, featuring the first school bus slobberknocker of the season.

Cook Out Summer Shootout kicks off next week with back-to-back nights of racing on Monday and Tuesday, including the first school bus race of the season, Media Mayhem.
CONCORD, NC (June 7, 2024) – The Cook Out Summer Shootout returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway next Monday and Tuesday night for its 31st anniversary season with an exhilarating doubleheader filled with intense racing, thrilling games and themed prizes.
On top of eight weeks of action-packed racing, with the world’s best grassroots racers taking on the famed quarter-mile in their Bandoleros and Legend Cars, fans can also look forward to entertaining theme nights, filled with interactive games, prizes and more. During the summer, Cook Out Summer Shootout is the best place to spend time with family and friends.
To help wave the first green flag of the season, Monday, fans are invited to come out for Cook Out Kickoff. The Cook Out Kick-Off will shake up the speedway as fans put their trivia knowledge to the test and “grill”their family and friends with questions. Fans who visit an area Cook Out prior to entry can show their cup at the gate for free admission to the opening night festivities.
In addition to our regularly scheduled programming, fans are invited to tune in Tuesday for part two of the doubleheader. Join your favorite local TV personalities at the track for “Media Mayhem” as these media members find their need for speed in a school bus slobberknocker.
