CMS ROVAL To Receive Layout Changes

The new layout for the ROVAL

(CONCORD, NC – MAY 26, 2024 – RIS) Known for its illustrious history of innovation, Charlotte Motor Speedway will usher in a thrilling new era of motorsports excitement this October.

Speedway officials announced on Sunday a reconfiguration of the 17-turn, 2.28-mile ROVAL™, which will provide additional passing opportunities for drivers and force a competitive re-think of what it’ll take for teams to conquer the Bank of America ROVAL™ 400.

Included in the reconfiguration, crews will extend the straight-away coming out of Turn 5 and create a new Turn 6, sending the field toward a much sharper hairpin in Turn 7.  On the frontstretch, a sharper apex in Turn 16 of the final chicane will be created.

The circuit will still feature 17 total turns and a length of approximately 2.28 miles with 35 feet of elevation change.

Fans will get their first glimpse of the all-new ROVAL™ during the pivotal NASCAR Playoffs Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 weekend when both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and Cup Series take the track in crucial cutoff events, with drivers battling to secure a spot in the Round of 8.

NASCAR drivers will be able to test the new layout on simulators, as the layout plans have already been transmitted to iRacing so the new configuration can be experienced for the first time on computers, before they arrive in October.

TICKETS: Weekend packages for the Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 start at just $99. Kids 12 and under get in all weekend for just $10 with an adult. Visit www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or call the ticket office at 800-455-FANS (3267) for tickets, upgrades and camping details.
