Allgaier Takes Darlington in Good Humor

(DARLINGTON, SC – MAY 8, 2021 – RIS) Justin Allgaier was in a good humor as he left Darlington Raceway following the Steakhouse Elite 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series race, appropriately so, because the winner's Jr Motorsports car carried a Dale Earnhardt Sr Good Humor throwback paint scheme and his driver's suit resembled a Good Humor man's white suit and bow tie.

JJ Allmendinger led from the start but Austin Cindric took the lead after a few laps but a caution immediately interrupted the race for Brandon Gdovic's spin after a three-wide with Joe Graf and JJ Yeley saw him lose control. Gdovic was the cause of the second caution as well, just a few laps later.

Nine cautions slowed the race, including the competition yellow and the stage ends, before the final yellow for Ryan Vargas' spin in Turn Two send the race into overtime with Allgaier racing around Josh Berry for the win. In finishing fourth, Noah Gragson won his third 'Dash 4 Cash' bonus of $100,000 for the season.

"To check off Atlanta and Darlington couldn't be more special for this race team," said Allgaier.

Josh Berry commented after the race that: "I didn't know which lane to pick. It's hard to be made, running second with no practice. We were close."

As the pack neared the final checkered flag, Austin Cindric, running well back in the field, got turned into the wall, smashing the front of his No. 22 Mustang.
