HAUBSTADT, IN -RIS- The 29th edition of Indiana Sprint Week has six feature winners so far. Four of the winners have been first time winners and the series concludes tonight at Terre Haute with ten points separating Robert Ballou from leader Brady Bacon.

But we are getting ahead of ourselves. The 2016 sprint weeks newest winner is Carson Short who lead all 30 laps of the sixth feature race at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt.

The 20 year old Short who calls Marion, Illinois home and is not related to Brady Short who won the Putnamville feature. Carson started the feature from the pole and won wire-to-wire after out racing Jarett Andretti, the outside front row starter on the first lap. Carson Short was dominant over the thirty lap race race with Kyle Cummins following in second.

Jarett Andretti was having a good night running in third until late in the race when Chase Stockon and then the charging Robert Ballou passed him.

Having mentioned Ballou the subject of the sprint week points battle comes to mind and Ballou driving from 16th to fourth to win the “Hard Charger” award for the second night in a row. Points leader Brady Bacon started and finished seventh and now finds his lead cut from 22 points to ten. Tyler Courtney has not had anything good happen since his flip at Blooming Friday and still clings to third 56 points back.

In the preliminaries Ballou, Meseraull, Jarrett and Carson Short won the heats. Brian Karraker won the C main and Kevin Thomas Jr. won the B main.

So Indiana Sprint Week heads back to Terre Haute and the Action Track to run the postponed race from Wednesday. That's one of Robert Ballou's favorites and it will be interesting to see what Brady Bacon does to defend his point lead.
