ENJOY CIRCLE K NHRA WINTERNATIONALS IN THE SNAKE SKYBOX WITH LEGENDARY DRIVER DON PRUDHOMME
GLENDORA, Calif. (Jan. 28, 2016) -RIS — Fans attending the Circle K NHRA Winternationals, Feb. 11-14 at historic Auto Club Raceway at Pomona will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy the tradition-rich season-opening event in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series alongside one of the sport’s greatest legends – four-time NHRA Funny Car world champion Don “The Snake” Prudhomme.
A limited number of tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are available for fans to purchase to gain entry into the Snake Skybox. Prudhomme will make an appearance in the Skybox on Saturday and Sunday to watch nitro qualifying and the final rounds, respectively, at the Circle K NHRA Winternationals.
Fans that purchase a Snake Skybox pass will be able to enjoy some of Auto Club Raceway’s most exclusive amenities. With the purchase of a Snake Skybox pass, fans gain access to an air-conditioned suite that includes a catered meal each day, free non-alcoholic beverages, a closed-circuit television and an exclusive Don Prudhomme goodie bag. Fans who purchase two Snake Skybox passes will receive a VIP parking pass for the weekend.
On Saturday or Sunday, fans with a Skybox Pass will be able to visit with Prudhomme, a five-time winner of the Winternationals and one of only a few drivers to win the iconic event in both Top Fuel and Funny Car. Fans can talk with him about the weekend’s racing action, take photos and get his autograph.
Prudhomme, one of NHRA’s biggest stars of the 1970s and most successful drivers and team owners, is a four-time Funny Car world champion and earned 49 career victories, most of them at the controls of his famed line of U.S. Army Funny Cars. His intense rivalry with Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen in the famed Mattel Hot Wheels Funny Cars, is widely credited as the first mainstream sponsorship in NHRA drag racing. As a team owner, he guided several drivers, including Larry Dixon, Ron Capps and Tommy Johnson Jr., to many victories in the sport’s nitro classes.
