Rain Halts Action At Kokomo

Justin Grant set fast time in qualifying. Photo:Speedblur101
KOKOMO, IN -RIS- Night two of the 28th “Indiana Sprint Week” was cut short by rain which stopped the program after the last chance race. The program is scheduled to resume Monday, July 13 with hot laps at 7 pm.
The rain did not come soon enough for fast qualifier Justin Grant who flipped in the first heat and was done for the evening. It is not known if the delay will allow him to join the field for the feature on Monday. Justin had been the fastest of the 46 qualifiers at 12,805 seconds. C. J. Leary and Thomas Meseraull were also flipped in the incident.
Brady Short, Hunter Schuerenberg, Dave Darland and Chase Stockon were heat winners. Travis Hery won the C feature and advanced to the B along with Cole Cottle, Jake Swanson and Josh Spencer. Nathan Moore and Tom Harris both flipped in separate incidents during the C feature.
So Sprint Week continues in Lawrenceburg by the edge of the Ohio River in the south east corner of the state. Cross your fingers for good weather on Sunday evening.
