Bojangles’ Summer Shootout Series Begins 2015 Racing Season
Stars of racing's future will battle on the frontstretch quarter-mile of Charlotte Motor Speedway throughout June and July.
-- For Immediate Release -- CONCORD, N.C. (June 4, 2015) – The world’s premier grassroots racing event, the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout Series, kicks off with an action-packed, two-night doubleheader Monday and Tuesday, June 8-9, at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Entering its 22nd year, the 2015 racing series will feature more than 150 U.S. Legend Car and Bandolero racers competing in six divisions for 10 nights on the speedway’s frontstretch quarter-mile oval.
The Bojangles’ Summer Shootout Series provides the area’s most affordable family fun and excitement, plus the opportunity to see NASCAR’s superstars of the future. Current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr., Joey Logano, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch and David Ragan are among the wheelmen who raced as teenagers in a Legend Car.
Admission to the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout Series is FREE for children ages 13 and under, and adult tickets are only $8. With interactive games, concessions, souvenirs, a kids’ play area and all the on-track thrills, Charlotte Motor Speedway packs each night with entertainment galore. Tuesday’s action-packed lineup will also include area school principals wheeling mammoth school buses in a bumper-banging slobberknocker.
Tickets are available in advance at the speedway ticket office and at Gates 4 and 5 the night of the race. Parking is free. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with preliminary action starting at 5:10 p.m. Opening ceremonies are scheduled at 7 p.m. and feature races are scheduled to conclude by approximately 10 p.m.

New for 2015, the Performance Racing Network (PRN) will offer a pay-per-view broadcast each Tuesday night of the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout Series to an international audience. Fans can watch the live broadcast online.
MAVTV will also televise select highlights of each week’s action on Thursday afternoons between noon and 4 p.m., nine days following the live racing action at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
