Fans Info for Halloween Havoc Includes Trick-or-Treat for the Kiddos!

The biggest three day racing event in the tracks history is set to take place this coming weekend as Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, Oklahoma is set to host the inaugural United States Modified Touring Series sanctioned “Halloween Havoc” from Thursday through Saturday nightOctober 30-31 and November 1. Not only will the biggest names in modified racing be descending to this racy Southern Oklahoma track, the top limited modified drivers in Oklahoma and Texas will also be in competition. And kids, it wouldn’t be a Halloween Havoc without involving you as well.

As mentioned, race fans will witness some of the biggest names in modified racing, headlined by USMTS champion Rodney Sanders of Happy, Texas. Also expected are Zack Vanderbeek, Stormy Scott, Kelly Shryock, Johnny Scott, Oklahoma drivers Dereck Rameriz and Joe Duvall, Daniel Hilsabeck, John Allen and Cade Dillard.

Fresh off claiming two victories in three days of racing action this past weekend in Northeastern Oklahoma, former USMTS champion Jason Hughes of Watts, Oklahoma will also be competing. Hughes spent his first full season behind the wheel of a late model this year, claiming rookie of the year honors with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Other late model/modified drivers expected include Terry Phillips, Jeremy Payne and Ryan Gustin.

The tracks weekly contingent of modified competitors will look to put in an impressive performance in front of the hometown crowd. They include Cam Case, Travis Penrod, Buddy Honacker, Chris Corntassell, Harold Winton Jr. and Sr. and Britton Weger.

Coupled with a plethora of drivers from throughout the states of Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Kansas over 100 drivers are expected to compete in both divisions over the three race weekend.    

It all kicks off this Wednesday night with open practice for all drivers competing throughout the weekend. Thursday and Friday night will see gates open at 4:00 PM with racing slated for a 7:00 PM start time. On championship Saturday night gates open at 3:30 PM with show time starting at 6:30 PM.

Grandstand admission for Wednesday night’s practice is free. Adult general admission tickets on Thursday night are $20; ages 6-12 and all seniors $15. On Halloween Friday night make sure your kids ages 6-12 years of age will get in free if wearing their costumes. They will be pleasantly rewarded and you will know your child can trick-or-treat safely as drivers will be passing out candy and other goodies to those children from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Adult general admission will be $15 and $10 for all seniors and children ages 6-12 that are not in costume. Championship Saturday night grandstand prices are the same as Thursday night.
