Richard Griffin Grand Marshal of The Hall of Fame Classic

Silver City, New Mexico's, Richard Griffin, will be honored as Grand Marshal for the 14th Annual USAC HoseAdvantage Hall of Fame Classic at Canyon Speedway. The Hall of Fame Classic, a raced named for celebrating Arizona Motorsports Hall of Fame members as well as induction ceremonies for new members, will take place at the Peoria, Arizona facility in just a few short weeks on November 14th and 15th.

The "Gas Man" Richard Griffin captured the 1984 Arizona SCOA Sprint Car Championship and spent many years battling with Arizona's best including the likes of Wayne Bennet and Billy Boat prior to moving on to the famed CRA Sprint Car Series. Griffin won nearly 60 CRA/SCRA Sprint Car events and etched his name into history as "The Gas Man".

Griffin earned a place in the Arizona Motorsports Hall of Fame after a storied career spanning more than 25 years. The five-time SCRA Champion earned his first Sprint Car title in Arizona aboard Lowell Carsten's Speedmart car and earned each of his 5 SCRA titles aboard the famed Ron Chaffin ride that was wrenched by hall of fame mechanic Bruce Bromme.

Griffin will be among several Arizona racing legends scheduled to sign autographs at the upcoming Hall of Fame Classic along with many more Arizona racing legends as Windy McDonald inducts five new members in to the Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame Classic, presented by The HoseAdvantage Store, found a home at the Peoria, Arizona race track in 2010 and has quickly become one of the marquee events of the 30 year old facility. The combination of the National USAC Sprint Cars and the tradition of the Parker Store Hall of Fame Classic will likely make for a formidable West Coast Sprint Car event.

Brady Bacon and Damion Gardner lead the National Sprint Car's and CRA Sprint Car's into the USAC Sprint Car Finale where Both series Champions will be crowned.

The Arizona Motorsports Hall of Fame was founded in 1986 when the first 10 members were inducted. Since its inception, more than 80 new members have been elected to the elite group that is occupied with a rich racing heritage, one that is abundant with tradition and prestige. The members list is impressive and each of them has made a considerable impact on racing across the country.

Open to the public, The Arizona Motorsports Hall of Fame will host the annual kickoff party starting at 6pm on Thursday November 13th and is also open to race fans. Friday and Saturday, November 14 and 15, the HoseAdvantage Hall of Fame Classic will feature the non-wing Sprint Cars of the USAC National and CRA 410 Sprint Car Series.
