BLOOMINGTON, IN JULY 18, 2014 -RIS- Bryan Clauson increased his points lead over Dave Darland with his second Indiana Sprint week win of 2014 at Bloomington Speedway. After losing the lead to Darland at the start of the feature Clauson fell to third behind a surging Hunter Schuerenberg who took the lead on lap 11. As the race progressed conditions on the lower groove favored by Clauson improved and about lap 14 he took second from Darland. On lap 25 Tyler Cortney flipped in turn two and on the restart from that Clauson took the lead from Schuerenberg.

Schuerenberg had set fast time in qualifying and also a new track record for the USAC sprint cars at 10.920 seconds but he had nothing for Clauson at the end of the feature.

Clausons sprint week point lead increased from six to ten over Darland with Robert Ballou third 38 points back as they head into the final race tonight at Tri-State Speedway north of Evansville.

Jon Stanbrough had another tough night as he was involved in an accident with Brady Bacon. The incident on lap 13 was the subject of controversy as officials had allowed Bacon to continue in the race with a flat right rear tire. He spun in front of Stanbrough after a restart in the first turn. Stanbrough had been in eighth and had to go to the back of the field. He finally finished ninth.

So we head south to Haubstadt for the finale. It's further than you would think as it is in the central time zone. Will it be Clauson's night, or Darland's?
