IRWINDALE, CA -RIS- It was “The Night of Champions” on the final night of stock car competition of 2014 at Irwindale. In the top class, the Super Late Models the racing was as close as it could be during the fifty lap event with Jason Patison leading most of the way. Patison started the race in a tie with Tony McCray for the season title but his main rivals were third place Linny White and fourth place Jack Madrid. Patison took the lead when White went off line on the first lap and held it. White and Madrid kept at his heels the whole time.

PERRIS,CA -RIS- it's good to be Damion Gardner right now. Just back from Bonneville where he strengthened his claim on the title of 'Worlds Fastest Sprint Car Driver' with 211 MPH in the “Green Demon” last Tuesday. Saturday he was back in the Alexander Brothers Racing CRA sprint car at Perris California working to add to his three race winning streak.
FONTANA, CA -RIS- It was a race of numbers and when the numbers were all added it was Kanaan and Power with big numbers and big smiles.
PERRIS, CA AUG 16, 2014 -RIS- It was billed as "California Racers Hall of Fame Night" but it became tribute night to Bruce Bromme Jr. due to his August third passing. A long time crew chief and the son and grandson of legendary racers, Bruce's cars had won many CRA and SCRA championships. The most recent drivers for the team, Michael Spencer and Damion Gardner were both dedicated to racing in his honor. Richard Griffin was also there in his memory.
GAS CITY INDIANA JULY 7 2014 -RIS- The 27th edition of "Indiana Sprint Week" starts tonight in Gas City at the I-69 Speedway. Last years series champion, Bryan Clauson is back to repeat his success of last year while Dave Darland is out to add more wins to his record as the willingest driver in the series history. Seven races over ten nights at tracks from Kokomo south to the Ohio River are included with Gas City and Kokomo leading off and Lawrenceburg finishing the first 'set' of races this Sunday. Monday and Tuesday are off nights before Terre Haute and Putnamvillle lead off the final four races which include Bloomington on Friday and Haubstadt on Saturday. Reports and photos from each event will be posted here on RIS!
BLOOMINGTON, IN JULY 18, 2014 -RIS- Bryan Clauson increased his points lead over Dave Darland with his second Indiana Sprint week win of 2014 at Bloomington Speedway. After losing the lead to Darland at the start of the feature Clauson fell to third behind a surging Hunter Schuerenberg who took the lead on lap 11. As the race progressed conditions on the lower groove favored by Clauson improved and about lap 14 he took second from Darland. On lap 25 Tyler Cortney flipped in turn two and on the restart from that Clauson took the lead from Schuerenberg.
PUTNAMVILLE, IN JULY17, 2014 -RIS- It's hard to imagine what Robert Ballou would be if he wasn't in a sprint car. That maybe why he has struggled on shoe string budgets for the past two years to continue his driving career. His hard work may have started to pay off for him because “Indiana Sprint Week” has a new winner. Robert won wire-to-wire at Putnamville Thursday night.
TERRE HAUTE JULY 16, 2014 -RIS- “I think this is the last track in Indiana I had to cross off my list and man it's been tough. You don't walk into wins at Terre Haute!” Explained Bryan Clauson in the winners circle after his first win at the “Action Track”. Clauson had started the 30 lap feature third and followed early leaders Brady Bacon, laps 1 through 13 and Robert Ballou, laps 14 through 16.
LAWRENCEBURG IN JULY 13, 2014 -RIS- The weather was the story at Lawrenceburg and It was a case of it being too good to give up and too bad to race. Showers had visited Lawrenceburg in the afternoon but didn't prevent the start of round three of Indiana Sprint Week.
KOKOMO IN, JULY 12, 2014 -RIS- Kokomo Speedway is Dave Darland's 'home' track and it sure looked that way as Darland set a new track record in qualifying of 12.405 seconds and went on to win the 30 lap feature by holding off Justin Grant in a thrilling finish.
GAS CITY, IN JULY 11, 2014 -RIS- Jon Stanbrough was in the winners circle for the second year in a row as he captured the Sprint week opening race at Gas City I-69 Speedway. Starting on the pole, Stanbrough lead every lap on an unusually slick track which made passing nearly impossible. Running on the bottom the whole race Stanbrough had Justin Grant near him for all of the 30 lap feature.
HAUBSTADT, IN JULY 19, 2014 -RIS- It was a night of seconds as Bryan Clauson won his second Indiana Sprint Week in a title while Robert Ballou won his second sprint week feature of 2014.

PERRIS, CA May 3, 2014 -RIS- It was a night to remember at the 'PAS' as Damion Gardner's winning streak came to an end and Richard Vander Weerd became the newest winner in the AMSOIL USAC/CRA SPRINT CAR Series. Gardner came in third but was moved to second as Nic Faas was moved back two places for jumping a restart late in the race. Gardner came from the back of the field and had moved up seven places in the last eight laps as he fought to keep his streak intact.
PERRIS, CA MAY 24, 2014 -RIS- Six races into the 2014 AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series season and there five wins for the Alexander Racing number four of Damion Gardner. The one race he didn't win was the race he finished second in. Damion's rivals have had a season of frustration this far. That's the way it was for the fourty lap Perris Auto Speedway “Salute to Indy”.
VENTURA, CA MAY 10, 2014 -RIS- Damion Gardner resumed his winning ways as the USAC/CRA series returned to Ventura Raceway for the first time since 2010. Starting on the pole after an unusually lackluster qualifying result Gardner fought with Cory Kruseman early on and with Nic Faas late in the race but lead every lap (USAC says different, I know) on the way to his fourth feature win of the 2014 season.
IRWINDALE, CA APRIL 19, 2014 -RIS- Twin 30 lap featuers by the Lucas Oil Late Models were the top of the bill for Irwindale Speedway. It was something familiar and something new in the winners circle as Ryan Partridge took his third race in a row and then Travis Irving took the second race.
PERRIS, CA APRIL 12, 2014 -RIS- Damion Gardner has started the 2014 USAC/CRA season with a hat-trick as he held off fast qualifier Michael Spencer to win for the third time. Starting from fifth position Damion moved past early leader Matt Mitchell to take the lead on the fourth lap. He lead the 27 remaining laps despite determined challenges from Spencer who started sixth.
IRWINDALE, CA 04/05/2014 -RIS- Ryan Partridge of Rancho Cucamonga, California had the night of his life as Irwindale Speedway opened it's 2014 regular season. Partridge started with a win in the Lucas Oil Late Models in the first of two thirty lap races. Ryan went on to win the 40 lap Irwindale Race Trucks and finished up with a late race win in the second Lucas Oil Late Model 40 lapper. The second late model race was both a crash fest and a thriller as two multi-car wrecks and attrition left five of 21 cars running at the finish. Cole Custer lead the race at the last restart but Partridge got past on the lap 25 restart.
PERRIS, CA -RIS- Perris Auto Speedway had its 2014 opener the “Sokola Shootout” under the full moon in the California sky. It seemed that it was just what “The Demon” Damion Gardner needed as he took the Alexander Racing number 4 car to fast time, heat win and feature win.
IRWINDALE, CA 03/22/2014 -RIS- Patrick Staropoli of Plantation, Florida driving the PEAK Toyota was the surprise winner of the NAPA 150 at Irwindale Speedway. It was the sixth series start for the 24 year old racer who got the ride by winning the “PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge” against 800 other drivers. It was his first start at Irwindale Speedway and his first win in the K&N Series.
