DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - RIS - GEICO Honda rider Wil Hahn continued his torrid run in the AMA Supercross 250SX East Series with a second-place finish Saturday night at the Daytona Supercross by Honda at Daytona International Speedway.

Hahn's teammate, Eli Tomac, scored his best career finish in the 450 SX class with a fourth-place run.

The winner of the last two Supercross races, Hahn extended his points lead to five over second-ranked Dean Wilson, who finished fourth in this event. Hahn has finished on the podium at all four East Series races, winning twice, finishing second once and third once.

"Today I'll be satisfied with second," Hahn said. "It's crazy; you win two races in a row and you get that feeling and you want it over and over. I wanted to win but by the time I got up to second Marvin (Musquin) was gone. I'm happy for him. It's his first win and that's special."

Hahn scores first career victory, puts GEICO Honda on top of podium

ATLANTA  -- GEICO Honda rider Wil Hahn had a long time to think about what his first victory would be like in the AMA Supercross Series. Sunday night at the Georgia Dome, it all unfolded perfectly for the 23-year-old as he lead from wire-to-wire to claim his first trophy in five professional seasons.

"It actually went down exactly how I've always envisioned it," Hahn said. "I got the holeshot, I put in the laps, and I stayed calm -- that's what it took to win.

"It's all kind of surreal. It's taking me some time to let this get into my head. It's overwhelming; that's why I took a victory lap. I wanted to squeeze every bit out of it and the crowd was going nuts. This is just a very, very satisfying feeling."

Bruised but not broken, Tomac ready for redemption in Anaheim

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Jan. 29) - GEICO Honda's Eli Tomac is going into Saturday's Monster Energy AMA Supercross race at Angels Stadium of Anaheim a little bruised but more determined than ever.

After starting the season with three straight 250SX West wins -- including two at the "Big A" -- Tomac had about everything possible go wrong last weekend in Oakland. He had a nasty crash in the main event, mangled his bike to the point he couldn't continue, suffered a DNF and lost his points lead.

"I bruised my knee a little too but it's really not bothered me at all this week," Tomac said. "I actually had a really good test session on Tuesday and I think we're getting my bike better. We worked on chassis and suspension to get me more comfortable so I can get it working better on the track.

GEICO Honda team wants to crowd the podium this weekend in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. (Jan. 24) - GEICO Honda's Eli Tomac is hoping to open the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season with this fourth straight 250SX West victory Saturday at Overstock.com Coliseum.

With two victories in Anaheim and one at Phoenix, Tomac has been able to score wins at venues where he struggled in the past. This weekend, the tables are turned and Tomac will be defending the Oakland trophy he earned in 2012.

"Oakland is a little bit different compared to the rest of our West Coast tracks," Tomac said. "The dirt is usually a little bit softer. They get rain and moisture up there a little more often so the base is softer than a lot of the other places.

NEW ORLEANS (Oct. 7) -- After 25 years of competing on the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Road Racing circuit, 44-year-old veteran rider Michael Barnes is finally a champion after capturing the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series title with a breathtaking win Sunday in the season-ending Big Kahuna New Orleans.

"It's been a long time coming," Barnes said. "My thanks to Kyle Wyman for giving me a bike that was equal to his and offering this chance to live my dream. Also to Gaston Kearby and the KLR Group for their financial support. To finally have a championship after all these years just reenergizes me. I love this sport and I can't wait to run with the No. 1 plate next year."

Barnes entered this race as the class leader following a victory two weeks ago in Miami aboard his KLR Group/Spyke's Harley-Davidson. But his margin was only two points over Tyler O'Hara, a four-time winner this year.

Barnes wins Miami, assumes points lead in AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (Sept. 23) -- KLR Group rider Michael Barnes was crowned the Big Kahuna of the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series Sunday after winning one of the most exciting races of the 2012 season. Riding without teammate and bike owner Kyle Wyman, who suffered a concussion in Saturday qualifying, Barnes battled Tyler O'Hara and Travis Wyman throughout the 11-lap main event to move into the championship points lead with one race remaining.

"It's an emotional day for me," Barnes said. "To see Kyle crash yesterday and then find out he couldn't continue the championship chase today was heartbreaking for our KLR Group team. It's not very often your biggest on-track rival gives you a ride but that's exactly what Kyle did and I was looking forward to going down to the wire with him and Tyler and the other guys.

INDIANAPOLIS, Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 - Dani Pedrosa became the first MotoGP rider to win the Red Bull Indianapolis GP twice and turned up the heat on World Championship leader Jorge Lorenzo with a dominant victory Sunday, Aug. 19 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Pedrosa beat fellow Spaniard Lorenzo to the line by 10.823 seconds on his Repsol Honda. It was the second victory of the season for Pedrosa, who also won this event in 2010.

The victory helped Pedrosa close to within 18 points of Lorenzo with seven races remaining.

"It was difficult at the beginning of the race because the pace was very strong from the start," Pedrosa said. "I got past Ben Spies, but I kept calm because I knew I had the pace today to fight for the victory. When I took the lead, I put in some very strong laps to build up a gap and then I made a mistake in Turn 2 going into neutral, and Jorge reduced the gap by one second.
