The Field For the Busch Light Clash is Set

LOS ANGELES, CA – RIS – NASCAR made the Busch Lite Clash unique in every way.  Qualifying Saturday night was augmented to heat races, something familiar to other forms of automobile races.  The first heat had the following results:

Heat 1 results: Kyle Busch in the familiar M&M’s paint, won the first heat. The rest of the top four that advance to the Busch Light Clash are Daniel Suarez, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., and Ryan Blaney. Busch will have the pole for the race. Suarez will start in the fifth position, Stenhouse will be ninth, and Blaney will be 13th.

The second heat was won by Tyler Reddick in a Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet.  Justin Haley won the third heat. The rest of the top four that advance to the Busch Light Clash are William Byron, Christopher Bell, and Chase Elliott.

The first Last Chance qualifiers put on a show.  The top three in the first last-chance qualifier race were Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, and A.J. Allmendinger. Hamlin claims the 17th position in the Busch Light Clash, Harvick will be 19th, and Allmendinger will be 21st.

The second Last Chance heat saw a hard-fought between several drivers including Bubba Wallace, Harrison Burton, Kurt Busch and others.  Dillon won the final heat and will advance to the main race this evening

Dillon would have Ryan Preece and Bubba Wallace joining him but was disqualified for jumping a restart. Harrison Burton will be awarded the starting position.  Burton finished fourth and out of the running.  Full race coverage tonight
