-- For Immediate Release -- An eventful Friday of World of Outlaws World Finals presented by Can-Am at The Dirt Track at Charlotte action saw more than 100 drivers engage in fierce on-track battles during their penultimate nights of racing this season; Feature events were postponed and will resume at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday with gates opening at 1 p.m.

CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 2, 2018)– After the rain went away on Friday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, the lights came on and the stars came out for a shortened-but-exciting night of racing in the World of Outlaws World Finals presented by Can-Am.

A packed crowd of fans from 50 states and seven countries stuck around throughout the evening, filling the grandstands for the penultimate night of dirt racing’s championship-deciding spectacular. With rain having shortened Friday’s card, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars, World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Models and Super DIRTcar Series big-block modified features scheduled for Friday night will shift to Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Spectator gates will open at 1 p.m.

Saturday’s original on-track schedule will remain in place, with opening ceremonies getting underway at 4:45 p.m.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars completed all pre-feature action on Friday, with Paige Polyak, Tim Shaffer, Ian Madsen, Aaron Reutzel, Spencer Bayston and David Gravel collecting heat victories. Gerard McIntyre won the C-Main. Tim Shaffer and Aaron Reutzel won Dashes. Parker Price-Miller won the last-chance showdown.

World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Models title contender Chris Madden won his heat race, as did Scott Bloomquist, Tim McCreadie, Shane Clanton, Devin Moran and Brandon Sheppard. Pat Doar, Ross Bailes and Joey Coulter won last-chance showdowns.

Thursday qualifying kicked off the World of Outlaws World Finals presented by Can-Am at The Dirt Track at Charlotte; Race fans from all 50 states and seven countries are on hand to witness the stars of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Models and the Super DIRTcar Series big-block modifieds in their championship-deciding races on Friday and Saturday

CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 1, 2018) – An action-packed night of qualifying on Thursday served as a high-octane preview of the unforgettable, wheel-to-wheel action race fans will witness on Friday and Saturday in the World of Outlaws World Finals presented by Can-Am at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

Parker Price-Miller and David Gravel scorched Charlotte’s four-tenths-mile dirt oval in World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars time trials on Thursday night. Price-Miller’s 12.607-second circuit set the quickest time for Friday’s events, while Gravel’s 12.686-second run led the way for Saturday’s portion of World Finals.

Shane Clanton paced the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Models field with a 14.62-second lap – tops among all drivers in time trials for Friday. Mike Marlar led the first of two groups in Saturday’s qualifying, which were delayed by rain and will be resumed on Saturday.

Matt Sheppard, Max McLaughlin, Mike Mahaney and Brett Hearn claimed Super DIRTcar Series big-block modified heat wins for Friday. Billy Decker, Demetrios Drellos, Mahaney and Keith Flack earned heat wins ahead of Saturday’s races.

Hearn rocketed around The Dirt Track in 15.674 seconds, setting the fastest time for Friday’s events. Decker’s 15.579-second lap was good enough for quick-time honors for Saturday.

Race fans from all 50 states and seven countries – as far away as Australia and the Netherlands – will attend this weekend’s three-day spectacular of dirt-flying, championship-deciding excitement.
