INDIANAPOLIS 500 - Race Day 2017 at Indy

INDIANAPOLIS - RIS - May 28, 2017 - RACE DAY! The traditional 6:00 am aerial bombs just went off announcing the opening of the infield and public gates to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The RIS team, Dave Chess, Pam Clarino, Tom Beeler, Bash Beard, and me, Larry Clarino, are here in the IMS Media Center ready go.

The big topic of conversation today and the last several days has been the weather. The Indy forecast is not if it will rain, but when. Right not it is very cloudy but no rain close on radar, but heavy thunder storms are said to be coming later this afternoon. We hope the weather guessers are wrong.

Today’s race looks to be an exciting one, with the Penske guys starting mid-pack. Certainly the depth of the starting field is impressive. Most years there are six to eight drivers with a real shot at winning, this year we put that number closer to 15, anyone in the first five rows has a legitimate chance of getting their face on the Borg-Warner trophy at day’s end.

This reporters hope, I will not call it a prediction, is Ed Carpenter for the win.
Dave Chess is calling Will Power, Pam Clarino and Bash said Scott Dixon is the man.

In about 9 hours we will know for sure.
